I recently came across a blog from when I attended On Demand in Philly in April of 2010.  In the blog I make reference to where we will be in 5 years – as we hit 3 ½ years I thought it would be interesting to take a look back and a look ahead.

A trip to Philly and OnDemand – a blog from the past

I just returned from the OnDemand show in Philly and I had a great time looking over all of the digital offerings for this upcoming year. The show seemed well attended with lots of interested people.

I am a big football fan, and I can be passionate about the sport. However I am not one to be so passionate that I keep track of my players throughout the games, pick game scores, predict stats and generally talk football all week until game day. Of course, there is nothing wrong with that - it's just not my passion.

So I was thinking recently, what am I passionate about?

Hey Rainmaker, yeah you, whatcha doing?

How cool was it to close the big quarter end deal just in time to put you on top, how cool is it to have the President and VP of Sales talking you up?

Are you liking the leeway for a missed meeting or two, how's the new iPhone and that new car, cool huh? Well I am here to congratulate you and tell you to get back to work and start with thanking the team.

As I mentioned in the previous blog (Part 1) we are in football season and I am full into both coaching for one son and bleacher dad for the other son.

As a youth league coach, I enjoy teaching the life lessons from football to the kids and seeing the light turn on when they see how the fundamentals we teach them equal success.

I am also a parent of a high school football player, and it is a very different perspective being the silent voice in the stands. It provides a different perspective, an outside view. The sideline view is in the action, decisions equal immediate action, yet I cannot see the big picture sometimes or I miss an individual match up which is not working correctly.
