Imagine, if you will, a nice evening out with your family.

Grandma and Grandpa invited our family of six to join them for dinner at a restaurant close to their home. We drove the 45 minutes to arrive on time, and made our way to our table of eight in its own private room.

We then were treated to excellent service, and a wonderful meal. I even remember the grace our servers and busboys showed when one of my children spilled their full glass of lemonade on the table and carpeting. All in all, a nice evening out.

In order to determine the best message, graphics, offer, deliverable, and workflow you need to know your audience. Then you need to know if the data that you have on your audience is good.

I had the unique opportunity this month to run the same campaign with very similar messaging, timing, Personalized URLs, telemarketing and the very same offer with very interesting results.

We ran three very similar campaigns at the same time last month and two of them had almost identical results within 5-6% of each other. The third campaign netted results 1/4 of the other two campaigns. All things being equal, I started to analyze the data and the telemarketing results to focus on data quality.
